A LETTER TO YOUR EXCELLENCY VICE PRESIDENT (DARUSO-MUCE)

“You are taking it too far”, this was one of my friend’s insight when I shared with him this piece of madness. “And if you are not careful enough, you are about to mess it up” he added. This man assassinated my courage to post this; but after recollecting myself and observing how serious the subject is, I have decided to ignore my friend’s comments and I am writing this long letter to you, Your Excellency.

Your Excellency, though this may sound skeptical to most people, but let us face it altogether. I am humbly asking you, right there you are; please turn your eyes, to the left and the right. How do you assess the kind of dress does the people you are leading wear? I knew that, most of us do not like this subject, this is just unfortunate, I always say what most people do not like, provided that, it carries some bits of certainty.

Madam vice, it is true that, a pair of trousers can be worn by both men and women in our campus. I hold no grudge against that. However, my irritation is to these new (of outdated?) socks-cum-trousers! Just think of it, some teacher trainees (girls/women?) are wearing stockings in the name of trousers; this attire tights them very well, and you really know the kind of African girls figures! Do not ask me…

Your Excellency, do not interpret me as an out-of-date creature who meaninglessly shout at others. There are funny men in our campus; what is your take on teacher trainees (men/boys?) who wear their trousers in a “Lil Wayne” style? Believe me or not, some of us (men) wears trousers, and if one is careful for a look would think that this man is carrying stones in his pockets- the trouser is about to slip out.

Madam President, that woman you are seeing right now… yes, that one who wears a long dress, carefully look at her, what do you see? Her dress is long and beautiful, but it is transparent (I am sad!). My question is that, is this dress compatible with the teaching profession? Does (will) this teacher wear it at school (working) premises? Or it is some sort of a fashion?

Madam Vice, I’ll wind up my discussion by mirroring PART II, section 4.3 (vi) of the UDSM Students by laws; it stipulates that this is an act of sexual harassment…  Unwanted physical contact of any sort which is sexual in nature including touching of sensitive body parts, brushing against another’s body, hair or clothes, kissing, pinching, patting, grabbing, or cornering;”  I am just irritated and shocked; how far is this law being bleached? Who cares? I just can’t put it words but readers of this tirade bears witness; how many times do we see colleagues kissing publicly? Is this not breaching the law?

Your Excellency, I am presenting this to you because you are like the mother of this large group. And please colleagues do not take me for a gender insensitive-uneducated fellow. I am always gender sensitive and consider every sex of genuine vitality; however, whenever it comes to the truth, I spare none.

Your Excellency, I submit.

Thinking Objectively

Take a look at this Devilish Behaviour.                        Everyone is fed up with the Makambakamba and Dowans-Richmond Lowasa's abracadabra towards presidential contest s.   January Kaakamba te son of the former Dar DC has recently been quoted saying that he is a new messiah dedicated to lead this poor nation. Who prophesied this fake and unholy mission? Is it the former father or what?           Let Makamba and his fake prophet go back home and re-think again. We Tanzanians are fed up with father-son politics which endangers our country to comma. A careful at these tycoons there is no way one can prove of their sanity. They use most of their time in churches contributing to various projects in the name of their good heart. Are they not vote hunt...

Development in the Underdeveloped

The term ‘’Development’’ has been contended for a number of years. It can be simply asserted as the concept of both convergence and divergence. This means that, when the Tindiga of Dodoma defines or conceptualizes development, the concept will completely differ from that of an indigenous American economist. Consequently, the concept, ‘‘impedes thinking of one’s own objectives as Nyerere wanted; it undermines confidence in oneself and one’s own culture as  Stevenhagen demands; it clamours for management from the top down, against which Jimoh rebelled’’ (Esteva,2010,p.3). Therefore, this collective argument gives a clear preface and it introduces development as a concept of multiple definitions and theories; equally, this troubling concept can be traced far back time immemorial, but it gained momentum soon after the Second World War in 1945, the period famously identified as the turning point of the world history. Thus, in the 1950s various definitions and theories of  develop...
